Privacy Policy

What information DOCUVE handles, where your work is stored, and the choices you have.

  • Last updated

This policy explains how DOCUVE handles information when you visit this website and when you use the DOCUVE studio. DOCUVE is made and operated by Mohamed Araja (Theo Kode) ("we", "us").

The short version: the studio has no accounts and keeps your projects in your own browser. The website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. We don't run advertising or social media trackers. Purchases go through Gumroad. The sections below explain the details, including every outside service involved.

The DOCUVE studio

No account

You don't create an account to use the studio. We don't ask for your name, email address or password to open it.

What you type stays in your browser

Everything you enter in the studio is saved in your browser's local storage on your device. That includes:

  • your studio details, such as your name, studio name, email, website and location
  • your payment details, such as bank or PayPal information you add for invoices
  • your logo, if you upload one
  • your projects, including client names, client emails, project details, prices and the text of your documents

The studio does not send this information to us or to anyone else. In our own testing, the studio made no network requests while projects were created, edited and exported to PDF. The tools it needs, including fonts and the PDF library, are built into the studio file.

PDFs and backups are created on your device

PDF export, printing, Export backup and Import backup all run in your browser. Exported PDFs and backup files are saved wherever your browser saves downloads. We never receive a copy.

Your data can be lost

Because your work lives only in your browser, it can disappear. This can happen if you:

  • clear your browser data or site data
  • use a private or incognito window
  • switch to a different browser or device
  • move or rename the studio file, if you opened it as a downloaded file

We can't see or restore your projects. Use Studio settings → Data → Export backup regularly, and keep copies of the PDFs you send to clients.

Information about your clients

The details you enter about your clients are under your control. If you add personal information about other people, such as a client's name or email, you're responsible for having a reason to use it and for handling it in line with the laws that apply to you.

This website

Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Vercel uses this information to deliver the website and keep it secure, and keeps it for a limited time under its own policies. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Fonts

The website's pages load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When a page loads, your browser requests the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address and browser information. See Google's privacy policy. The studio itself doesn't load fonts from Google; its fonts are built in.

Analytics (Google Analytics)

The website's pages use Google Analytics, a service from Google, to tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found the site. We use this only to improve the website and its content.

When you open a page, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) so it can recognise repeat visits. It collects information such as:

  • the pages you view and how long you stay
  • the website or search that brought you here
  • your browser, device type, screen size and language
  • your approximate location, such as your country or city, worked out from your IP address

Google Analytics doesn't tell us your name or email address, and we don't use it to identify you. Google processes this information under Google's privacy policy. You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

To stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, block or delete cookies for this site in your browser settings, or use a content blocker.

The DOCUVE studio doesn't include Google Analytics, and nothing you type into the rate calculator is sent anywhere: it runs in your browser.

No advertising or social media trackers

This website doesn't use advertising networks, social media trackers or tracking pixels.

Buying DOCUVE

DOCUVE is sold through Gumroad. Gumroad is the merchant of record for your purchase: it takes the payment, collects any sales tax or VAT, and handles your payment details under Gumroad's privacy policy. We never see your card or bank details.

Gumroad shares some details of each sale with us, such as your email address, your name if you give one, your country, what you bought, the price and the date. We use them to deliver DOCUVE, answer support requests, handle refunds and keep the business records the law requires.

We keep these purchase records for as long as tax and accounting laws require, and then delete them.

When you email us

If you email us at printit.studio1@gmail.com, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to help you. This mailbox is hosted by Google (Gmail).

We keep support emails until your question is resolved, and for up to 12 months after that in case you follow up. Then we delete them.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your information, and we don't share it for advertising. The only outside services involved are the ones named above:

  • Vercel, to host the website
  • Google, for website analytics, website fonts and our email
  • Gumroad, to sell DOCUVE and process payments

These companies are based in the United States and may process information there and in other countries, under their own privacy policies and safeguards.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or some US states, privacy laws may give you rights over your personal information, such as the right to access it, correct it, delete it, or object to how it's used. We'll honour these requests wherever you live.

  • Studio data: we don't hold it, so you're always in control. You can delete projects in the studio, or remove everything by clearing the site's data in your browser.
  • Emails and purchase records: to make a request, email printit.studio1@gmail.com. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to resolve it. You can also contact the data protection authority where you live.

Children

DOCUVE is a tool for professional and business use. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how DOCUVE handles information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
